Pinterest: An Addiction or Muse?

Hello beauties! As a frequent reader of this blog, you're most likely just as addicted to pinterest as I am. Let's be honest, you have a problem. WE have a problem. Alright, show of hands: How many of you have ever reached the bottom of the feed in the middle of the night only to think "I'll just click see more pins one more time and then I'll go to sleep." If so, keep reading; if not, never get on pinterest again. Save yourself while you still can! If you haven't yet, most of you will experience this plato where it feels like everything in your pinterest feed is something that you've either seen before or pinned already. Have you ever had an experience where you don't remember a post and try to re-pin it, only to be oh so politely reminded by pinterest "OOPS, Looks like you've already pinned this!" Because I know I have far too often.

Now, I liked to think that my pinterest wasn't a problem. I was successfully in trying out crafts on my "projects to try" board and creating pin-worthy crafts, up-cycles and recipes galore. I was keeping a great and organized archive of all of my ideas that had spun from other similar projects or photo's I'd collected. But then one day, pinterest was overtaken by... THE MEMES. Now our feeds are not only a place find all these great ideas, but it is also scattered with someEcard sarcastic remarks and screenshots of marvel movies with clever captions. Although enticing and entertaining, one could easily get distracted for hours on end without any real productivity.

But is our time spent on Pinterest really wasted? Sure you've stayed up an hour past your ideal bedtime and skipped out on a few things from your to-do list for the day. We all know how valuable it is for us to get our beauty sleep, but how important is our wind-down time? I believe that it is a highly valuable way to effectively clear our minds, boost our moods and prepare ourselves mentally for a fresh new start to a fresh new day. I firmly believe that "waisting" 3 hours on a saturday morning on pinterest is not time wasted. Our minds need to take a break from our worries and drama to get creative and inspired every week!
